He is an Indian Administrative Service officer of 1987 batch,

N Manjunath Prasad, an Indian Administrative Service officer of 1994 batch, has been appointed the new Commissioner of Bruhut Bangaluru Mahanagar Palika (BBMP). Prasad is already handling two responsibilities as the Principal Secretary to Government, Revenue Department and Principal Secretary to Government (Disaster Management, Bhoomi and UPOR), Revenue Department.
